Using Literacy Skills to Balance Creative Movement and Technique in Choreography
In this lesson, I paralleled crafting a paragraph/essay with choreographing a dance in order to demonstrate how to infuse technical elements into choreography in a way that furthers choreographic intent. Dancers read different versions of embellished "none-sense" paragraphs, engaged in class discussion, and worked in small groups to revise their existing choreography based on their new knowledge.

Elements of Dance: Time and Relationship
In this lesson, dancers explored two elements of dance (time and relationship) through improvisation and choreographic tasks. Students used inference skills to make connections between today's lesson and choreographic intent and artistic expression, two key concepts of their Introduction to Dance Composition Unit.
