BIOGRAPHY

Patricia (Tricia) Statkiewicz most recently developed and implemented an International Baccalaureate (IB) Dance Curriculum for grades 9-12 at St. Timothy's School in Stevensville, Maryland.  In addition to founding the curricular dance program, she also grew the extra-curricular offerings, choreographed the school musical, and produced three dance concerts per year to showcase the students' best performance and choreography.

 

Tricia holds an Ed.M. in Dance Education from Rutgers University and a B.A. in Dance and Business Administration from Muhlenberg College.  At Rutgers, she developed her skills in planning and implementing effective lessons that engage students with dance and the world around them through clinical fieldwork and student teaching.  While at Muhlenberg, she taught students of all ages at the Muhlenberg Community Dance Center and served as a new teacher mentor.  At Muhlenberg she studied jazz, ballet, modern, and tap and performed in numerous faculty, guest artist, and student choreographed works.  

Prior to attending graduate school, Tricia taught middle school dance and theater classes at Roland Park Country School in Baltimore, Maryland, where she directed dance showcases, choreographed annual musicals, and founded the Middle School Dance Company.  She concurrently taught classes, directed a performance ensemble, and organized summer dance camps at The Moving Company Dance Center in Cockeysville, Maryland.   

 

Tricia is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum.
